FAQ
Most of these are about MemoSorb products. For business enquiries, please email or call us directly.
How does MemoSorb differ from ordinary memory foam?
It comes down to structure. Ordinary memory foam is mostly closed-cell, so heat and moisture struggle to escape, and it stiffens below 10°C. MemoSorb uses a low-temperature process to form a three-dimensional open-cell structure: it absorbs 5–15 times its own weight in water and then releases the moisture, and it stays soft at −5°C. The full comparison table is on the Materials Technology page.
Does it really not stiffen in winter?
According to the company's material comparison data, MemoSorb is still soft at −5°C. In a normal home environment you will not have to wait for it to warm to body temperature before you can lie down on it.
Can it be washed? How should it be cared for?
The foam itself must not be washed or wrung out. Remove the outer cover and wash it according to the care label, then air-dry it in a cool, ventilated place out of prolonged direct sun. The adjustable bed cover is removable and washable. Please follow the instructions supplied with the product.
Does it have an odour?
The low-temperature process uses no catalysts or vulcanizing agents. VOC, eight-metal content and formaldehyde test records are available. See Certifications for values, conditions and sources.
Is it suitable for expectant mothers and babies?
There is a dedicated maternity range, including pregnancy side-sleeping pillows, nursing pillows and baby pillows, currently supplied to 20 postpartum care centres. The material has passed biocompatibility and cytotoxicity testing. For infant bedding, we still recommend following the guidance of your paediatrician or health authority.
Which product suits an older adult confined to bed?
Most people start with a mattress topper and a seat cushion; an adjustable bed is also worth considering. Tell us the user's weight, the hours spent in bed and the existing bed setup, and we will recommend a specification. Institutional buyers are welcome to email for the full test reports.
Where can I buy it?
For now, please get in touch through Contact Us. Some hotels, guesthouses and sleep-experience showrooms also let you try it first.
Can sizes be customised, or new products developed?
Yes. The material itself can be adjusted for hardness, density, thickness and covering method, and custom tooling can be made. See OEM/ODM Services.
Besides bedding, what else does Isotech make?
Office chair armrests and seat cushions, airport public seating, insoles and outsoles, sports protection parts, solid tyres for self-balancing vehicles and more. See Applications.
